January gets our wheels spinning on new ideas and fresh plans for 2026! Above are a few trends and ideas we think have tailwinds going forward. 1.) Cordless lamps: a proliferation of rechargeable lamps in various sizes have arrived on the market. They are really handy in any space you want a lamp but can’t hide the cord (e.g. open consoles, kitchen counters, or next to a reading chair). The battery technology seems to already be getting better and the light quality and warmth is great! 2.) Pop of color on a classic wooden bed: the example depicted is from Oomph; they are fun for all ages and easy to switch a look up over time with new bedding. 3.) Elkay filtered water dispenser: we’ve been doing research on this growing space and are liking the new Elkay products. Elkay is a major supplier of commercial filtration units but the company has now started offering residential options. This smaller unit depicted is powered with just three AA batteries (no electrician needed). They also have larger options that would be good for filling dog bowls, etc. We are excited to see what else comes on the market in this space. 4.) Urban Electric brass and fabric sconces; shades offer a pop of color and softness in a hallway or powder room…just love these. 5.) Exposed thermostatic shower systems: we love how these look installed on top of tile and the water pressure of the medium sized head is great (you can add a handheld as well). 6.) Good looking glass food storage jars: these Weck jars can be sourced from William Sonoma and are easy to stack in the fridge. 7.) La Cornue stoves: we love all the color and materials you can customize with as well as the “range” of possibilities including induction options. They are an investment for sure but very fun to look at and cook with! 8.) Softer indoor/outdoor fabric: most fabric lines have been iterating this concept for years. There are so many great options out there for good looking and feeling stain resistant upholstery.

Below are a few more ideas for 2026. 1.) Pattern on pattern because cozy looks never go out of style. 2.) A few years ago it was hard to get good-looking outdoor furniture at reasonable prices. There is a lot more to look at these days. The chaise above is from Serena & Lily. 3.) Keeping with the wellness trend, a great-looking diary is an easy atomic habit to take on in 2026…mine looks more like a daily to-do list than deep thoughts but it’s helping me stay on tasks and be more “intentional”. 4.) Circular dining tables: we love the way you can use them in different ways - for example, throw a great-looking tablecloth on it and stacks of books and it looks more like a library display when it’s not party time. 5.) Incorporating antiques: hitting auction sites is so fun and inspiring - a good mix of old and new can bring personality to a room. Here is a gorgeous rug from Doyle auction house that you could layer over a fresh sisal or just use on its own. Most auction houses have online house and furniture sales that include some real bargains and fun stuff you don’t see on all the regular furniture sites. 6.) Urban Electric: another cool little sconce that would look amazing in a variety of settings. 7.) A set of dining chairs currently up for auction at Doyle: how fun would they look with a fresh, contemporary fabric on the seat cushions. 8.) Lamp lighting for outdoor spaces: another cool new category that we are excited to see more of.
